The friends of the Lion have teamed up with the 1722 Waggonway Project to do some much needed prep work for when the Victorian drinking fountain returns to the Port Seton Links in the springtime.
While the old concrete plinth was being dug out, a mini archaeological assessment was carried out, with coins, trinkets and clear evidence of picnics being found - what a fantastic piece of social history!
